Background
Prior to joining CTU as the Dean of General Education and Psychology, Dr. Palmer served 20 years as an educational leader with the State of Georgia. Her roles were with the GA Department of Education, the University System of Georgia, and the Technical College System of Georgia. With the GADOE, Dr. Palmer served as an English Instructor, Dual Enrollment English Instructor, and Instructional Technologist Media Specialist. During which time, she led multiple accreditation teams, leadership teams, and state alignment initiatives with English and Media literacy standards. With the University of Georgia’s Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, she led the University’s Instructional Technology Committee, provided professional development in instructional design and online learning pedagogy with faculty members, and created a faculty consortium on online pedagogy and practice in higher education.
Dr. Palmer’s TCSG service included positons as an adjunct and full time English instructor as well as a Dean of General Education and Online Learning. From 2017-2021, her deanship role included serving as the college’s leader for faculty professional development, implementing Quality Matters programming for all online programs, leading the Quality Enhancement Plan for a first semester seminar class curriculum, leading the Arts and Sciences’ faculty and accreditation for general education, and providing leadership and innovation for increasing dual enrollment courses in seven service areas.

Research Interests
Dr. Palmer’s research interest include student transitions and graduate employability, workforce relevant education, and alternative learning models for student success.
